What is LegalSnaps?
LegalSnaps explains Indian law in plain language, one short “snap” at a time: what the law says, what you can do about it, and where to go for help. It is written for citizens, not lawyers — for the situations people actually find themselves in at work, at home, online and with the authorities.
Is this legal advice?
No. LegalSnaps is legal information, not legal advice, and reading it does not make us your lawyer. Every situation has facts that matter. For advice on your own case, speak to a lawyer — and if you cannot afford one, you may be entitled to a free one. Find free legal aid near you.
How are snaps written and checked?
Our editors and researchers write each snap from the law itself — the Act, the rules or the judgment — and every snap names that source so you can check it. Where a lawyer has reviewed a snap, their name appears on it. Each snap shows the date it was last checked, and when the law changes we update it.
Is LegalSnaps free?
Snap titles and helplines are open to everyone. A free account opens 10 snaps in full. After that, a paid plan gives unlimited reading. See the plans.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Go to Account → Subscription and choose “Stop renewing”. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Which languages can I read in?
English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu. Switch language at the top of any page. Where a snap is not yet translated, you will see the English text with a note saying so. Many snaps also have an audio version you can listen to in these languages.
I can't find my situation. Can I ask for a snap?
Yes. Use “Send to editors” at the bottom of the browse pages, or write to us from the Contact page. Every request is read by our team; the ones that fit become new snaps.
I think a snap is wrong or out of date. What should I do?
Please tell us from the Contact page and include the snap's link. We check every report against the source and correct the snap if it needs it.

What are stars and gifts?
